On a local scale. Bioinformatics is undoubtedly of major importance in the future of biotechnology.
The third year bioinformatics module (previously described ) will soon be given the status of a full-scale option.

At national level. Preliminary discussions are taking place, with regard to the possibility of creating
an Polytech network to coordinate courses on food industry and biotechnology.
This would mean that any student from a school of the Eiffel network could follow third year courses
on the site of their choice. It would, of course, add to the diversity of choice.

At European Level. The BE department is seeking to develop student and lecturer exchanges with an
European University such as the University of Wageningen, Netherlands. We already have strong research links with them.
