The programmes considered comprise four directions :
At local level :
in accordance with the worldwide situation, the need for engineers with a solid knowledge in Physics that are able to work efficiently
in the Energy domain (production, conversion, storage), or the environment domain or for the analysis of materials life cycles will lead
us to offer more transversal competencies.
A course focused on nuclear energy and alternative energy is under development with the Biochemical Engineering Department.
At national level :
Polytech network offers the opportunity to attend the whole last year in another school within
the “Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science” domain in order to broaden the spectrum of specializations.
At international level :
the development of placements abroad is a major objective for the department. A longer second-year placement contributes
to this purpose. The set up of a partnership contract with a foreign university is also currently being studied (Laval University, Canada)
with the aim of allowing some of the students to complete the curriculums third year there. The international cooperations under university
conventions, as was already the case with Prague Charles University, Tunisia Monastir Engineering Schools,
University Institute of Technology in Poland, Silesia, will be developed in order to integrate the participation of a greater number
of visiting professors in the curriculum.
